How I Use AI To Get By
How AI Supported My WaveRunner & Trailer Maintenance System
The entire process was surprisingly smooth. I asked AI to handle the heavy lifting so I could focus on riding instead of researching — and it delivered.
1. Manuals First: Find, Download, Extract Everything
I started by asking AI to locate and download all Yamaha WaveRunner owner’s manuals for my models.
From there, AI pulled out every manufacturer‑required service, inspection, and maintenance item — nothing missed, nothing guessed.
2. Turn Raw Data Into a Real Checklist
Next, we transformed the manual data into a clean, usable checklist.
It eventually evolved into two separate checklists:
- After‑Use Checklist — the fast routine I follow every ride
- All Other Maintenance — periodic tasks with clear timing and purpose
Then we refined it again by removing all tasks that must be performed by a certified Yamaha mechanic, leaving only the owner‑doable items.
3. Build the Product & Tools Map
Once the tasks were clear, AI helped me create a comparison table of every cleaning product, accessory, and tool needed to perform each task.
This made it easy to see what was essential, what was optional, and what was redundant.
4. Apply the Same System to the Trailer
We repeated the entire process for my Zieman trailer:
- Identify all owner‑required maintenance
- Separate after‑use vs. periodic tasks
- Map each task to the exact product needed
- Remove mechanic‑only services
- Finalize a minimal, California‑compliant kit (UGH)
5. Final Pass: Product‑Linked Checklists
The last step was the most satisfying:
AI helped me finalize the exact products to buy and attach each one directly to the task it supports.
The result is a clean, modular, audit‑ready system that tells me:
- What to do
- When to do it
- What product to use
- Why it matters
No clutter. No guessing. Just a smooth, repeatable routine.
